I have worked with Michael Tey of Teycon for many years over several different organizations. He is that rare blend of strategic thinker and tactical problem-solver. His experience and ability in working multiple perspectives simultaneously, in analyzing and orchestrating complex changes is unparalleled.
Michael has partnered with me in matters of IT strategy, improvement of key IT areas, practical business and IT Roadmaps for alignment of IT priorities with business strategies, organization assessments and effective change management.
~Michael Tasooji, former CIO, Disney, Gap, and Quiksilver
Consultant engagements had become costly and unsatisfying exercises. As a technology executive, my role was often to adapt to the consultant’s process; most consultant’s obligation was to package their boilerplate ‘solutions’ and facts – facts about ourselves that we already knew – into a ‘deck’.
Teycon’s approach was different: Michael recognized that we already knew – ‘in our gut’ – a lot about how to improve our situation.
What was needed was a trusted collaborator, a deep-listener and knowledgeable facilitator, infusing external insights, objective perspectives and creating an environment where our conflicts, legacy attitudes, unformed insights and ideas could finally be … effectively debated and channeled into actionable results.
Teycon’s value was triggering the self-discovery, the hidden patterns that we couldn’t unearth on our own. Charting a path leading to meaningful change … emerges from hearing unvarnished, fact-based feedback, then bringing informed people together to craft a solution.
Michael was able to lubricate, encourage and expedite this interactive process … focused relentlessly on the future. When Teycon leaves, the organization – from executive to individual contributor – [is] equipped to move on, to own and [to] implement achievable solutions.

When an integral function within a corporation has lost its way, it is extremely difficult to find it on their own. As the saying goes, “Problems cannot be solved with the same mindset that created them”. That is where the Teycon comes in. Their unique approach to first understanding the underlying issues to problems before attempting to solve them, sets them apart from other organizations.
I have worked in technology for over 37 yrs. and have worked with some of the largest companies in this space and while they have all been competent, they were utilizing a playbook and knowledge databases to produce scores of metrics and possibilities but did not achieve much in the form of results compared to Teycon.
Teycon does less “looking at your watch to tell you what time it is” and more about letting you know when it’s time for a new watch. They are effective communicators and efficient facilitators. They get to know and understand the network within an organization or function, which allows them to discover the root cause of dysfunction or poor performance and then recommends pragmatic, realistic and actionable remediation plans that they implement along with you.
Teycon understands how both leadership and management need to operate in order to bring a poor team up to standards and a good team to achieve greatness. Their proven track record in executive coaching, team or function course correction or a large scale turnaround situation speaks for itself.
I would highly recommend the Teycon Group.
~Kevin White, , IT Worldwide Operations, Gilead Sciences, former CIO, Robert Half International
Teycon provides true trusted advisor services; many claim this but it is rare that consultants take a truly client centric agenda.
I engaged Teycon to assist with a major business and IT transformation as part of our company’s overall strategy to launch a new portfolio of digital offerings, reduce IT operating costs while simultaneously repositioning technology to drive growth and true business partnership.
Before Teycon was involved, we were at a standoff. Teycon dove deep into all aspects of the situation and worked alongside me and the IT leadership team as a thought partner and execution guide to get the transformation program back on track.
Without reservation, Michael Tey’s involvement was critical to our business success and I continue to rely on Teycon as an advisor and thought partner in new endeavors.
~Stephen Meyer, former VP, Office of Strategy Management, The College Board
Michael of Teycon helped us navigate through a complex and difficult globalization process. His keen ability to absorb, evaluate and succinctly consolidate and isolate the issues and priorities enabled us to quickly move forward and execute on our initiatives.
Unlike other consultants, Michael became a partner in the process, even a mentor at times. He helped us prepare and troubleshoot in advance with questions and challenges we had yet to answer or face.
With his involvement, Quiksilver successfully transitioned through the first phase of globalization.
~Susan Branch, former Roxy America’s President, Quiksilver
